Related to this, I think it would be very useful to be able to sort and/or filter by publication type (journal article, conference proceedings paper, conference abstract, etc.)

My idea got merged into here, but I don't see the content...putting here so it's considered. It It would be nice to have the default sort to highest cited/pubs in high impact journals. Also would be nice to sort manually so that I can select the articles people see. Related: be able to have different "themes" on your page so that you can tailor this digital CV for specific people looking at your work.

Disappointed to see this suggestion is "postponed". Wtihout this function this service is basically useless. Will check back in 6-12 months...

Wonder why this is postponed, too. Shouldn't a half-way experienced web developer be able to add sorting by different keys in very little development time?

I want to be able to sort publications by the date when I added them to my profile, so that I can avoid adding duplicate publications and praying that the deduping features, when they are added, work. So far, ORCID is a much bigger pain in the backside than I had hoped it would be.

I totally agree with this feature request. At least in my field, journal papers and conference paper have a fundamental difference, in term of peer review, impact, and importance of the contribution. In my profile, I would like to see journal papers first, and then all the rest. A nicer visual presentation would also help. As it is now, it is almost unusable.

We’ve just released a new interface for ORCID records that allows sorting publications, funding, education, and employment items by date, title and type.

The announcement for the new interface is at http://orcid.org/blog/2014/12/11/new-feature-friday-new-orcid-record-interface
