Like many people, I already have my education, job experience and publications stored in a LinkedIn profile. I don't want to have to maintain this information in two places, so I would like: - a way of automatically importing data from my LinkedIn page, and - a way of keeping the data synced between the two accounts. Other proposals have suggested similar things for Google Scholar (http://support.orcid.org/forums/175591-orcid-ideas-forum/suggestions/3265305-let-people-draw-in-information-from-their-google-s), Mendeley (http://support.orcid.org/forums/175591-orcid-ideas-forum/suggestions/3265916-enable-profile-and-publications-import-from-mendel), and Bibtex (http://support.orcid.org/forums/175591-orcid-ideas-forum/suggestions/3271362-import-from-bibtex-ris-mods-etc-is-essential-to). There is also a related proposal for the opposite concept of LinkedIn implementing ORCID profiles (http://support.orcid.org/forums/175591-orcid-ideas-forum/suggestions/3282340-encourage-linkedin-to-implement-orcid-so-its-easie).
