Allow editing of works entered manually
CompletedSo far I've got 4 publications in ORCID - 2 from those you suggested might be mine, and 2 I entered manually. I am reluctant to enter more manually as I can't see any way to edit these and it's easy to make simple mistakes. The only option appears to be delete & re-enter - which isn't really an option at all.

I add that it would be important to edit and merge also the records imported from researcherID, Scopus, CorssRef and others. For example to add short comments and notes, or to insert the DOI where it was missing (it weirdly happen for some papers imported from Scopus). Also, it would be important to collect the same paper imported from different entities under the same entry, either manually and automatically (DOI match). -
The best (and easiest) way to proceed with this problem would be adding a button "to remove all publications" - this will provide an opportunity to export publications from other databases, such as Google scholar, Scopus, Research ID, Mendeley, etc, in which the problem of publication editing has been solved. -
It's astonishing that after almost 2 years such a basic functionality is still missing and not even started to be worked on. Shame! The website should have never gone publicly online without it. You cannot seriously expect users to delete and re-add stuff because they forgot something or made some silly mistake. This is simply unbelievable. -
September, 2014, still no editing, or even a wiki-like preview before committing an entry. Too bad... I had some manual entries ready to list, but won't add them as things stand. Easy to see why competitors like ResearchGate (though more obnoxious in other ways) are eating Orcid's lunch. -
We’ve just released a new interface for ORCID records that allows editing of publications which you entered and allows you to make a copy and edit publications added from a third party source.
The announcement for the new interface is at http://orcid.org/blog/2014/12/11/new-feature-friday-new-orcid-record-interface
