This is a feature request very similar to the one concerning the arXiv [1] but which targets another identifier, namely OAI (Open Archive Initiative) [2], used, for instance by the open archive HaL [3]. This could be used to automatically extract data or to link ORCID profiles to openly accessible works. Thanks for submitting your suggestion to improve the ORCID Registry. We agree that integration with other systems, such as HAL, is important, and would like your help making your idea a reality.

HAL announced on Twitter in January 2017 that they are now ORCID members and are working on creating a link between HAL and ORCID. We look forward to working with them. https://twitter.com/hal_fr/status/818471239522123776

    Warm regards,

    The ORCID Community Team

This id's authors can add themself, but they must be in id list.

Another request about HAL: would it be possible to add the HAL document identifier in the identifier list?

(one can add it by using the “other identifier” option, but it would be great to have a standard format, as for SSRN, arxiv, handle, and so on)

    Best,
