If you no longer have access to the email address associated with your ORCID record, you can still access your account.
Please do NOT create a new record; instead follow the suggestions below to regain access to your existing ORCID record.
If you know the associated email address or your ORCID iD
Please try logging in by testing all passwords you can remember. You can use either the associated email address or the ORCID iD as the username. In many cases, users are able to log in by testing passwords they commonly use.
If you have already tried to log in using all passwords you can remember and were unable to do so, then please contact us so we can help you regain access to your account.
You’ll need to provide the following information:
- A current institutional or employer email address
- ORCID iD
- The email address(es) associated with your ORCID iD
If you don’t have all that information, we can still help you, but keep in mind that the access recovery process will take longer.
If you don’t know the associated email address or your ORCID iD
Please use the search bar at orcid.org to look up your name. If you find any ORCID records that you believe might be yours, please use the ORCID iD to try to log in. If you’re unable to do so, then contact us, making sure to provide the ORCID iD.
If there are no ORCID records with your name or if you can’t find one that you believe might be yours, that means that you don’t have an ORCID iD yet. In this case, you can register for an ORCID iD at orcid.org/register.
I’m still having problems
In many cases, it’s quicker for you to read our help articles, follow the instructions and resolve the problem yourself. However, if you need assistance, you can contact us and we’ll be happy to help.
