Most researchers have many sign in credentials: accounts for your institution, personal accounts, social media accounts, and more. Managing them all can be difficult, but ORCID makes it easier by enabling you to sign in to the ORCID Registry using the credentials for other accounts that you already use.
You will see several options when you sign into the ORCID Registry: sign in using a personal account, institutional account, or Google account.
When you sign in for the first time using your institutional or other non-ORCID account, you will be asked to provide your ORCID username (email address or ORCID iD) and password, to confirm that the accounts should be linked. After that, you may use your ORCID sign in details or any of the other linked accounts to access your ORCID record.
Institutional Sign in is Failing
If you're trying to sign in through the option Sign in through your institution and you're running into an error, you'll need to contact your institution for help.
In the meantime, you can sign into your ORCID account using the associated email address and the password you chose when you created the account.
If you don't remember your password, you can reset it at https://orcid.org/reset-password.
