Internet access is required to use ORCID. The computer you are using to access the ORCID website needs to meet certain minimum requirements for browsers and plugins.
Is your browser up to date?
The ORCID Registry works best on the latest internet browsers and on major operating systems. We test for:
- Firefox: version 68+
- Chrome: version 79+
- Internet Explorer: version 11+
- Safari: version 12+
- Opera: version 65+
- Edge: version 79+
If you are using an older browser, our site may not display correctly or might not even work at all. If you don't know what browser you are using, use What’s My Browser to find out.

Authorize, Register, or Sign-in button notworking? Known plugin issues
If you click the Register, Sign in, or Authorize button and nothing happens, this is a sign that a plugin or add-on installed on your browser is interfering with your access to the ORCID Registry. Some plugins or add-ons intended to protect your online privacy, such as uBlock, will block your access to any site, including ORCID, unless you specifically add the site to your list of trusted websites. You can add orcid.org to your trusted websites in your browser preferences settings.
