orcid badge for website
code for sharing the orcid profile via a web badge
Just to give an update on this project:
We have a demo of the ORCID badge widget that you can test by going to https://orcid.org/my-orcid?widget and clicking on the link to “Share your ORCID iD on other sites.”
Some of the feedback that we’ve received thus far is that it is quite large, and that it does not coincide with current iD display guidelines.
We expect to return to this project after we have finished deployment of the 2.0 API and have released the updated display guidelines in 2017.
If you have any feedback on this feature please let us know either here or at email@example.com

Apologies for not having updated this iDea earlier. The "Display your iD on other sites" feature is now available. You can find more information here: http://orcid.org/blog/2017/07/07/new-features-display-print-record
Thank you so much for your input and feedback!

What happened to the great iframe widget displaying name, orcid and number of publications? I find it quite useful and hope it's just temporarily unavailable. Would be good to have both options - the small widget (icon+orcid) and the more detailed one ...

I would also appreciate a smaller badge
Thanks for your query, and thanks for raising it. No, the badge widget is not yet deployed.
We expect that it will be on the back burner until the new display guidelines are released in the next year so that we can bring its display in line with the trademark & iD display guidelines (https://orcid.org/trademark-and-id-display-guidelines) -- iD icon followed the http(s) URI, both hyperlinked to the record.
It's also expected to be smaller, in pace with feedback here and from current testers.

I integrated now most available badges - the Google Scholar was built by myself - and yes, it would be nice if they could be a little bit more similar in size. See http://michaelzita.at on the left side.

The badge is huge! Can there be a smaller version?

Glad to hear that there will be a badge, but I agree with Jonathan - a widget that creates a publication list would be very useful.
This was at one point going to be looked at - see http://support.orcid.org/forums/175591-orcid-ideas-forum/suggestions/3265824-js-widgets-for-personal-homepages - but that idea has been closed without (it seems) being implemented.
arXiv has such a widget: http://arxiv.org/help/myarticles
We're actually testing this out now and hope to have a widget to let you generate code for a badge about your ORCID record available in the next month.
Any updates on this?

I agree with Jonathan: it would be useful to be able to embed one's ORCID profile in other webpages.
Would like to second the comment made by Anonymous and by the original poster: I've long had my ResearchID badge on my web pages, would like to add an ORCID badge! What's the current ETA?
I am glad to hear you will be creating a badge and I am looking forward to adding it to my pages. I already have the ResearchID badge on there so hurry up :)

it would be great if ORCID provided a free publication list embed feature - so people are able to manage their list with ORCID and dynamically embed it into a external website.
similar to something like http://publicationslist.org/jcachat - but free.
