I suggest that...

Allow publicaton dates by season

I have just added a work which was published in a journal with the cover date "Autumn 2017". I do not know if it was published in August or September, or will not be published until October.

Users should be able to specify a date in the format "[Season] ([Hemisphere]), [Year]".

Hemisphere is needed because, for example, Autumn occurs differently in the northern and southern hemispheres.

Thank you for your suggestion to improve the ORCID Registry.

We have marked this iDea as declined since it is already addressed in Crossref’s metadata schema. During deposition, it is possible to enter different values into the “month” field to represent seasons. For more information please see: https://data.crossref.org/reports/help/schema_doc/4.3.7/schema_4_3_7.html#month .

    Warm regards,
